Park Sites and Pavilion Rentals

Canton Leisure Services invites residents and guests to rent park pavilions and the gazebo. Several rental spaces are available in Heritage Park, Freedom Park, and Preservation Park. 

2023 Update 
North Pavilions: Due to numerous construction projects taking place near the North Pavilions, they will not be available for rental for the first half of the season. We are excited to be adding additional ADA-accessible play equipment, paving of the parking lot, restroom remodeling, and pathway improvements. An update will be issued on June 1 regarding the rental reservations for the remainder of the season.

PAVILION RENTALS

Canton's pavilions are available for rent at Heritage Park North, Freedom Park, and Preservation Park*. All guests must adhere to park and pavilion rules.

Please Note: Heritage Park South pavilions were destroyed during the Fall 2023 Tornado. Construction is anticipated to begin in the Spring/Summer 2024. Updates will be made here as they become available.

*Preservation Park requires a Community Event Application (PDF) to be submitted in advance of reservation. 

  • Online Reservations for Heritage Park North 1 & 2 and Freedom Park pavilions for the 2024 season can be made by Canton residents starting: February 1, 2024, at 11 am. Only online bookings from Canton residents will be accepted at this time.
  • All reservations are final; no refunds, cancellations, or changes to pavilion bookings can be made.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to rent a facility.
  • Phone-in reservations for all venues from residents can be made starting: March 1, 2024, at 11 am, by calling 734/394-5310. 
  • Non-residents can begin making reservations starting: Tuesday, March 28, 2024, at 11 am.
  • Full payment for the Pavilion is required at the time of reservation. Staff will not be able to hold a Pavilion without payment.
  • Please keep in mind that weekend and prime dates fill up quickly, additionally, there are some dates that have been reserved for community-wide special events.

CANTON PAVILIONS

Rental season May 1 - September 4, 2024.
Canton’s outdoor pavilions are the ideal spot for casual gatherings, such as: birthday or anniversary parties, reunions, company picnics, and more! 

Heritage Park - 1150 Canton Center Road
North 1 & 2 - capacity: 100 people each

Freedom Park - Sheldon & Palmer Roads
One pavilion - capacity: 80 people
(Portable restrooms only; no electricity available)

Preservation Park - 500 N. Ridge Road
One pavilion - capacity: 50 people (Pavilion only)

ADDITIONAL PAVILION RENTAL GUIDELINES

  • Heritage Park North 1 & 2 and Freedom Park Reservations are available Monday through Friday from 6 pm - 9 pm. Saturday and Sunday rentals for all pavilions is available from 10 am - 3 pm and 4-9 pm.
  • Preservation Park Pavilion rental requests must be submitted via Community Event Application. 
  • Reservation times include guest’s set-up/clean-up time and must be followed by all guests; please plan your party times accordingly. 
  • When completing the reservation, guests must list the maximum number in attendance. If your attendance will possibly exceed the maximum capacity, you are required to reserve an additional pavilion and contact the Parks Office.
  • As a courtesy to other guests in the area, reservation hosts are required to clean up after themselves: all trash, confetti, water balloon pieces, and other items must be placed in the provided trash receptacles. In addition, sidewalk chalk and other decorations need to be cleaned up by the end of the reservation.
  • Pavilion reservations that include the renter bringing any added amenity onto the park property, such as: tents, bounce houses, inflatables, animals, or other added amenities are required to provide additional Certificates of Insurance. All current insurance requirements can be obtained from the parks office at 734/394-5310 or leisure@canton-mi.org. Proof of all required insurance must be met no later than two weeks prior to the reservation or added amenities will not be permitted during the reservation.

COMMUNITY EVENTS AND LARGE RENTALS

Businesses, non-profit groups, organizations and individuals can request to host an event in a Canton Park, Preservation Park Pavilion or facility. All interested parties must submit a completed Community Event Application to the Canton Leisure Services Parks Division at least 21 days prior to the event date.

ATHLETIC FIELD REQUEST

Athletic fields are available throughout Canton Parks for Community residents to use during the outdoor season. The turf fields are ideal for baseball, softball, soccer, cricket, football, lacrosse, kickball, ultimate Frisbee and more.
