Volunteer Opportunity And Responsibilities
Name of Event: Mom To Mom Set-Up, Sale, and Clean-Up
Location: Summit on the Park, 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton
Brief Description of Event: Gently used children’s items will be sold at the Mom to Mom Sale. The event will be held in the gym at the Summit on the Park. This is a more physically demanding volunteer opportunity. Volunteers must be able to lift items onto carts.
Event Dates:
Setup: Friday, March 15 Shift Time: 5:00-8:30 pm
Sale: Saturday, March 16 Shift Time: 7:45 am-12 pm
Clean-up: Saturday, March 16 Shift Time: 11:30 am-1:30 pm
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do
Setup: Friday, March 15: Assist sellers unload their cars and bring the items into the Summit on the Park
Sale: Saturday, March 16: Carry out items for patrons
Clean-up: Saturday, March 16: Help sellers pack and load their vehicles after the event
Attire/Special Instructions: Casual attire, athletic shoes are recommended.

Volunteer Opportunity And Responsibilities
Name of Event: 2019 Easter Bunny Breakfast
Event Date: Saturday, April 13 Shift Time: 8:15 am-11:30 am
Number of Volunteers Per Shift: 8 Adults and 8 Youth
Location: Summit on the Park Banquet, 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton
Brief Description of Event: Annual Easter event where parents and children have breakfast with the Easter Bunny.
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do
- Light setup
- Assist with seating
- Work on a craft/activity
- Help children around the Easter Bunny
Attire/Special Instructions: Volunteers are asked to wear black pants/skirts and a white dress shirt/blouse.

Volunteer Opportunity And Responsibilities
Name of Event: 2019 Easter Eggstravaganza
Event Date: Saturday, April 13 Shift Time: 10:15 a.m.-1 p.m.
Location: Heritage Park Splash Playground area and Summit on the Park Gymnasium, 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton
Brief Description of Event: Annual Easter event for families and children; includes egg hunt, visit with the Easter Bunny and spring themed crafts/activities.
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do
- Assisting with egg hunt
- Working on a craft/activity
- Help children around the Easter Bunny
Attire/Special Instructions: Dress according to weather conditions, most volunteers will be stationed outdoors. The grounds are typically wet in the spring. Jeans and sturdy shoes/boots are recommended.

Volunteer Opportunity and Responsibilities
Name of Service: Meals on Wheels Drivers
Event Date: Volunteer will be scheduled
Shift Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Brief Description of Event: Drivers are needed to pick up and deliver home meals, one day a week to home bound Canton residents. Meals are delivered Monday-Friday. The routes consists of 7-10 homes. Subs are also needed for the program.
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do:
- Pick up meals at Club 55+ at the Summit on the Park and deliver them to selected homes in Canton.
Special Instructions: All volunteers must be subjected to a background check and a driving record check through the State of Michigan.
Volunteers should be compassionate and relate well to others.

Volunteer Opportunity And Responsibilities
Name of Event: Indoor Volleyball League
Event Dates: Fridays: November 2, 2018-March 29, 2019
Dates include November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; December 7, 14, 21, 28; January 4, 11, 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22; and March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Shift: 6:15-10:00 p.m.
Location: Summit on the Park - Gym
Brief Description of Event: Adult Volleyball League at the Summit on the Park
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do:
- Scorekeeping – Volunteers will flip score board.
Attire/Special Instructions: Volunteers do not need to commit to the full season. You can pick and choose which dates you would like to help. It is recommended that you commit to at least four sessions. Casual attire, athletic shoes are recommended.

Volunteer Training
Canton Township volunteers are required to attend training a minimum of one time per year. The training provides volunteers with information about upcoming events, customer service, and emergency preparedness. All registered volunteers will be emailed of upcoming volunteer training dates.
Meals on Wheels and Pheasant Run Golf Club Volunteers
For positions requiring driving, volunteers must submit a Michigan Driving Record Check form, in addition to the Volunteer Application for Adults. Please complete sections 3 and 5.

Scholarship Opportunities
Canton residents who have lived in the Canton community for 2 or more years are eligible to apply for a Canton Leisure Services Scholarship that can be applied towards Leisure Services classes and programs. Recipients can receive up to $400 per family in a year and are required to provide 1 hour of community service for every $20 awarded.
